This policy explains what personal information Nexo collects, why, and what you can do about it. Nexo is operated by SiteTrack Solutions Inc., Vancouver, British Columbia. It covers the Nexo app on iPhone, Android and the web, and this website, thenexo.ca. It applies whether you use Nexo on your own or on a site that uses Nexo, as a worker or as a foreman.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, phone number, email, and the trade and language you choose.
- What you record. Hazard assessments, signatures, safety tickets and their photos, orientations, toolbox talks, hours, and your emergency contact.
- Your crew. If you lead a crew, the names and signatures of the people on it, including people who do not use Nexo.
- Location. When you start or finish a shift, the app may take one location reading to show whether you were on site. You can turn location off in your phone's settings.
- Site forms. When you work on a site that uses Nexo, that site may ask for information through its own forms, such as its orientation. The site decides what it asks.
- Without an account. If you sign in at a site by scanning its QR code, we collect your name, phone number and what that site's form asks for.
- Messages you send us. Your name, email and message when you use the feedback form or write to us.
- How Nexo is used. Basic information about how the app and this website are used.
How we use it
To run Nexo: your account, your records and your Passport, your crew and the sites you work on, the messages you ask for (such as a reply to your message), keeping Nexo secure, improving it, and creating de-identified statistics about safety and how Nexo is used.
Who can see it
- People you choose. Anything you send from Nexo. Once you send something, they keep that copy.
- Your crew. People on a crew assessment can see that assessment.
- The site you work on. Records you complete on a site that uses Nexo, such as an assessment, an orientation or a sign-in, go to that site and, where it applies, your employer, like paper forms do.
- Service providers. Companies that host our app, database and website, send email, and provide analytics. Some are outside Canada, including in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed there.
- When the law requires it.
How long we keep it
While your account is open, and afterwards as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. Records you completed on a site stay part of that site's records after you delete your account. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information.
Your choices
To delete your account, open your profile in the app and tap Delete account.
You can also ask to see or correct your information, withdraw your consent, or delete your account, within the limits of the law. Write to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
